The Strong Men
Since 1996 in central France the couple Aristos Bouïus and Gerrit Schelling manage Les Gaillards. This is a kind of vacation house where very ill people for the last time can live like God in France. They are no patient anymore in Les Gaillards, but become human again. Aristos and Gerrit break with all in health care prevailing standards. If one of the guests would like a glass of wine, he gets it. If someone with long cancer wants to smoke, he can. Aristos and Gerrit think patients within the Dutch healthcare are being subordinated to the system. At Les Gaillards it's more the other way around: everything is in the service of the ill guests who are being served hand and foot 24 hours a day.
